Our self-contained holiday houses at Turtle Bay (Turtle Bay Tree House & Turtle Bay Beach House) offer a range of fantastic resort-style amenities and facilities that complement our amazing location. These include a huge range of free watersports equipment (kayaks, stand up paddle boards etc), overwater decks & walkways and giant overwater hammocks. All of it based around beautiful Turtle Bay, a calm protected lagoon surrounded by islands blue holes and reefs. Turtle Bay Beach House
Overwater Deck, Balconies & Swim Platforms
The covered overwater deck at Turtle Bay Beach House (6m x 15m) is the perfect location for sunset cocktails, outdoor dining and turtle, dugong and fish spotting. It’s a shared facility that features a traditional natangora palm-thatched roof, picnic tables, ceiling fans, solar lighting and a fully set up BBQ area that adds yet another option to our self-contained Espiritu Santo accommodation facilties. The deck also features a giant “overwater” hammock which can hold up to 4 adults and 2 kids. It’s the ideal space to chill out on those hot, humid days. Connected to the deck via a wooden gangway is a deep water floating swim platform for lagoon access at any tide. Finally every self-contained beach house and cottage also features a large ocean-facing deck with views of the islands and reef. The balconies are wide enough to live and eat on and ensure the rooms stay cool in summer.
The Gardens
Turtle Bay Beach House is surrounded by picturesque coconut tree plantations and features lush tropical gardens that not only add the aesthetic beauty of the property but keep it cool in summer. The gardens also provide “green” privacy screens between the cottages and the main beach house. The entranceway is framed by two beautiful traditional “black palm”sculptures while scattered throughout the rest of the property are traditional grade-taking sculptures from Malekula and beautiful hand-carved wooden tam tams (not to mention a giant preserved turtle shell). The firepit area is also framed by two black palm totems. A large grassy area adjacent to the beach provides the perfect area for kids and adults alike to play and relax.
But the crowning glory of the property has to be the epically huge Tamanu tree (maybe 500+ years old) growing out over the water next to the overwater deck that provides shade and protection from winds/sun/waves (it also makes a great climbing tree for the kids!). Solar powered string lights decorate the garden at night, turning it into a magical fairyland.
Watersports
Turtle Bay Beach House offers a huge range of free watersports equipment, including double sit on top ocean kayaks, single and double sit inside sea kayaks, a surf ski and stand up paddle boards. There’s also a range of snorkel and masks and swim goggles in the lanudry area. Both the kayaks and snorkelling gear are common property and can be used by the guests from both houses. The kayaks are located at the side of Turtle Cottage.
Finally there is a handy kayak ramp that leads from the garden to the beach area (for easy access to the ocean) and an outdoor rain shower allowing you to wash off the salt water after visiting the nearby blue holes, beaches, reefs and islands.

Turtle Bay Tree House
Overwater Walkway, Decks & Swim Platform
Unlike Turtle Bay Beach House, which features a private beach, Turtle Bay Tree House is set among a forest of large mangrove trees (there’s a small sand beach but it is not swimmable). A stunning overwater walkway meanders through the forest to a large all-tide swim platform. This is the perfect spot for turtle and fish watching, swimming, sunrises, sunset cocktails and snorkelling on the nearby reef. The decks for both villas at Tree House are huge, liveable spaces that provides stunning views of Turtle Bay lagoon. An outdoor BBQ is provided as an alternative self-contained cooking option.
